Assistant Sustainability Manager

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns with the company's values and goals.
• Collaborate with senior management to integrate sustainability principles into all aspects of the business.
• Collect, analyze, and report on environmental and social data, key performance indicators, and progress toward sustainability targets.
• Prepare regular sustainability reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay informed about relevant local, state, and federal regulations related to sustainability and ensure the company's compliance with environmental and social laws.
• Identify, implement, and oversee sustainability projects to reduce waste, energy consumption, water usage, and greenhouse gas emissions.
• Evaluate and recommend sustainable products and materials for the business.
• Develop and deliver training programs and communication materials to educate employees about sustainable practices.
• Promote employee engagement in sustainability initiatives and encourage their active participation.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to assess and improve the sustainability of the supply chain.
• Evaluate and select sustainable suppliers and products, promoting eco-friendly procurement practices.
• Build and maintain relationships with local communities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to support sustainability efforts and community outreach.
• Participate in community-based sustainability events and initiatives.
• Stay current with industry trends, innovations, and best practices in sustainability.
• Lead research and development projects to find new and innovative ways to enhance sustainability efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
• Proven experience in sustainability management, environmental management, or related roles.
• Strong analytical and data management skills.
• Familiarity with sustainability reporting standards (e.g., GRI, CDP).
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
• Deep commitment to sustainability and a track record of implementing successful sustainability initiatives.
