WHAT IS THIS POSITION ABOUT?

This position primarily entails supporting and taking responsibility for various tax-related tasks within the Finance Control Team.

Initially, the Finance Control Accountant - Tax will be tasked with handling responsibilities related to direct taxes, including VAT, withholding taxes, Corporate Income Taxes, and providing support for month-end closing activities. As the role develops, the Finance Control Accountant - Tax will take on different tasks within the Finance Control Team and may assume a leading role in specific responsibilities.

The Finance Control Accountant - Tax is expected to function as a business partner, collaborating with local functions and the Global Business Service (GBS) to offer comprehensive support in all matters related to Taxes. This includes sharing tax knowledge, providing assistance during tax audits, and serving as the primary contact with tax authorities.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

1) VAT & Withholding Tax

  • ensure all VAT transactions and WHT are fully and properly documented.
  • perform internal review for Tax invoices to ensure correctness and support to follow up tax invoices from vendors.
  • organize original tax invoices and withholding tax certificates to be in accordance with input and output VAT report, and the withholding tax credit.  
  • ensure VAT report and WHT report are reconciled properly and correctly with Tax invoices and WHT certificates.
  • prepare monthly tax filings to ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and in accordance to the relevant submission due date
  • provide advice to users for VAT & WHT issues

 2) Corporate Income Tax

  • coordinate with relevant function and tax advisor to prepare corporate income tax form.
  • ensure CIT submission complied with relevant tax regulations and in accordance with the relevant submission due dates.
  • provide advice to colleagues for deductible & non-deductible expenses related to CIT

3)  Month End & Year End closing

  • prepare journal entries to reclassify and adjust for transaction related to VAT and WHT
  • review account reconciliation performed by GBS for GL accounts related to Taxes and others GL as assigned
  • prepare Tax Pack, JCFC, CBCR and other taxes reporting as per requirements from Corporate Accounting or Global Taxes.
  • provide support to FC team regarding tax entries and reconciliation of tax related general ledger accounts.

 4) Project handling

  • lead the projects related to Taxes such as withholding tax, VAT and CIT.
  • review work process and initiative changes for improvement.
  • coordinate with business partner such as share services(GBS), indirect taxes and other colleagues to ensure project completion as per timeline
  • support Accounting Manager and Finance Controller for all project as assigned

 5)  Others

  • update and share knowledge and information related to Taxes to colleagues
  • be a contact person to respond to internal and external parties for tax inquires including internal and external auditors
  • monitor and update current and impending changes for tax regulation
  • other task in FC team are not initially assigned, but as the person development plan, new tasks will be assigned at appropriate times

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Possess a Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 1 - 3 years experience in Taxes Accounting (Experience in multinational company is preferable)
  • Able to speak and write English well
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Good knowledge in Taxes e.g. VAT, Withholding Tax and CIT, SAP knowledge is preferable.
