The Operations Manager is responsible for providing support to operational rigs within the region and the entire supply chain by overseeing the daily management of base handling documentation for all cargo shipments sent onshore and offshore. Additionally, they are tasked with maintaining the supply base to ensure smooth operations and uphold high facility standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing and supervising all staff, including contractors, to ensure effective base operation, including monitoring attendance and overtime, approving related expenses, participating in shift scheduling, and leading the investigation and resolution of incidents and complaints.
  • Ensuring the effective and appropriate utilization of resources and work within budgeted guidelines.
  • Ensuring documentation accuracy for all incoming and outgoing materials to/from the base.
  • Providing day-to-day support to staff, fostering a safe working environment, teamwork, collaboration, and professionalism.
  • Updating the NCR, OHR, CCU register, backload register, Cylinder tracker, Rig Inventory, etc., as defined in the Warehouse Manuals for the submission of timely reports.
  • Facilitating custom clearance, handling, and shipping of rig supplies being sent onshore and offshore.
  • Ensuring the disposal process is in line with the mandate in the DRA procedure.
  • Maintaining a high standard of facility as mandated in the Facility and Warehouse Management Manuals, including the purchasing of necessary items for Base Management, and maintaining zero LTI (Lost Time Injury).
  • Ensuring periodic physical inventory is in place and updated to ensure stocks are accurate as per requirements.
  • Assisting the area personnel coordinator with rig personnel who may be sent offshore due to illness and injury.
  • Ensuring the practical implementation of company policies and procedures as per TMS (Total Management System).
  • Coordinating the activities of the Materials Coordinator and Yard Supervisor and monitoring MHE (Material Handling Equipment) rental for loading activities.
  • Reviewing and approving invoices based on the authority delegation schedule on the STAR FSM system.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics in an international project cargo import and export environment.
  • Familiarity with local customs requirements related to operations.
  • Experience in logistics operations for offshore operations.
  • Good knowledge of drilling equipment and its operations.

 CERTIFICATIONS

  • Certificate in People Management (or equivalent).
  • Supervisory Capacity, preferably as a Base Manager/Superintendent.
  • Schedule Waste Competence certificate.
  • Yard Safety Supervisor certified (or equivalent).
  • Lifting Supervisor qualified.
  • Forklift operator qualified.
  • Relevant Experience and Preferred Skills.
