Technical Support Engineer (Automotive & Electrical System)

Our client is one of the world's leading manufacturers of adhesive tapes that custom adhesive solutions (more than 7,000 products) for industrial customers and professional clients including end customers since 2001.

Purpose of Job

• Working towards achieving spec in closure targets designated segments in Southeast Asia and/or areas specified by the management.
• Assisting and supporting local/cross-border business in product and technical-related fields in agreed market segments and applications, especially Automotive and Electrical Systems to develop new markets and customers in the areas identified by the management.
• Providing technical support to the key account/business development/sales management in developing spec in opportunities.
• Providing technical and product training to sales, customers, and other related functions in ttAP.
• Raising market and brand awareness through organization and execution of marketing-related activities/events, i.e. seminars, tech days, road shows, and participation in exhibitions.
• Supporting all the ISO 9001 standards of Quality Management Systems to the sales team, and operations team, i.e. customer service, warehouse, and to customers in the corresponding regional area of responsibility.

Main Responsibilities

• Technical applications support (Pre-sales/Quality/Application Issues)
  • Cooperating closely with sales teams, focusing mainly on Automotive and Electrical Systems, presenting and supporting technical aspects of the selling process through customer consultations, application test management, and solution recommendation. (Spec-in activities).
• Marketing support
  • Providing training support to customers on product introduction/process solutions/ roll out and application knowledge.
• Internal training
  • Providing training to internal sales, especially Automotive and Electrical Systems on fundamental Pressure Sensitive Adhesive training, product introduction/roll, and application knowledge.
• Reporting
  • Providing reports on activities on a focus projects update as stipulated by management. 

Qualifications & Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent professional qualification.
• 3-5 years of working experience in a technical engineering field related to the Automotive industry, OEM, or OES.
• Knows about adhesive tape or glue or polymer.
• Knowing batteries, E-power trains, and Electrical systems would be an advantage.
• Good command of English. Japanese speaking would be an advantage.
• Having own car.
• Able to travel overseas. 
• Working day: Mon-Fri, 09.00-18.00 (Hybrid).
