In this position you will…
… manage relationships with farmers/suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality coconuts. Sourcing:
- Work seamlessly with Sourcing team to Initiate the sourcing process by coordinating with farmers/suppliers to ensure that the most appropriate supplier selection is achieved with ICS guidelines
- Identify potential farmers and enroll them into the HHT farming system.
Compliance:
- Implementation and control of the Organic, Regenerative Agriculture, Fair Trade, and Social Responsibility process throughout the chain of custody, following "Fair For Life" and Organic and other standards requirements.
- To reliable with the internal control system to ensure excellent efficiency of our monitoring. Review and adapt the control program to improve risks coverage.
- Understand the laws and regulations under which food crops must be produced.
- Implementation and follow up of corrective actions.
Supporting:
- Scout farms on a daily/weekly basis and provide expertise to ensure the quality of crops and improve yield.
- Implement operational solutions to production challenges in line with standards an organic environment.
- Build a strong, trustworthy relationship with farmers/suppliers to ensure long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Ensure bruise-free handling during harvest, storage, and transport.
- Monitor use of fertilizers, and weeds, pest, and disease control respecting organic farming methods.
- Provide yields estimate per harvest by the validation process.
Extension:
- Experiment and develop the best methods to increase the yield and quality of crops.
- Develop best practices for irrigation/fertilization and methods to control weeds and pests to keep crops disease-free.
- Supervise environmental projects. For example, experiment with intercropping to improve biodiversity and organic methods to control weeds, pests, and diseases.
- Train farmers on Fair For Life, Regenerative Agriculture, and organic farming and other organic stand methods.
Reporting:
- Analyze information and data collected and prepare reports in a serviceable format to management.
- Prepare written reports and presentations to keep track of fieldwork and build database.
You will require the following qualifications and skills
- Bachelor's Degree in agriculture (agronomy, horticulture, extension, soil science, or related field.
- 1-3 years of agronomist experience in a certified organic environment is a plus.

Accountability
