The Role: Bridge Carbon is seeking a senior-level consultant to serve as our primary liaison with the Government of Thailand in relation to Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. The consultant will play a pivotal role in securing a Letter of Authorization (LoA) from the Ministry of Environment, Thailand's Designated National Authority for Article 6, and in advancing Bridge Carbon's engagement in Thailand's evolving carbon market framework. This role requires someone with deep relationships, credibility, and influence within government who can open doors at the highest levels and guide Bridge Carbon through Thailand's political and regulatory landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary liaison with the Department of Climate Change and Environment (DCCE) and Thailand Greenhouse Gas Organization (TGO), the key national authorities for Article 6 of the Paris Agreement within the Government of Thailand.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Ministry of Energy, with the aim of helping ensure that cookstoves are included in the list of sectoral activities that can be included within an LOA.
  • Act as Bridge Carbon's primary liaison with other key ministries such as Energy, Finance, and Foreign Affairs that would be critical towards advancing Bridge Carbon's agenda.
  • Secure and facilitate high-level meetings with senior government officials, ensuring Bridge Carbon's proposals are positioned effectively within Thailand's climate and development priorities.
  • Build alignment and cultivate support among government stakeholders to advance Bridge Carbon's applications for Article 6 authorization.
  • Provide clear advice on government expectations, decision-making processes, and political dynamics, including informal considerations that may affect timelines and outcomes.
  • Offer strategic insights on Thailand's evolving policy stance on Article 6 cooperation, carbon markets, and bilateral agreements.
  • Monitor government policy developments, competing market proposals, and regional dynamics that may affect Bridge Carbon's engagement.
  • Represent Bridge Carbon with professionalism, discretion, and integrity in all interactions with Thai government stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Former senior role within the Government of Thailand, or extensive experience working directly with DCCE, TGO and Ministry of Energy.
  • Strong network and established credibility with decision-makers in Thailand's climate and environment space.
  • Proven ability to secure meetings, build consensus, and influence outcomes in complex government processes.
  • Familiarity with UNFCCC Article 6 framework and general understanding of international carbon markets.

Job Description

What you will do:

  • You will identify problems and issues of customers by gathering necessary information, data and facts.
  • You will assess and analyze to provide concrete assumption leads to best solutions for customers.
  • You will work closely with customers in order to provide practical solutions and support for executing them successfully.
  • You will build and gain trust with customers and being recognized for your professionalism as JMAC Thailand consultant.
  • You will manage assigned projects effectively to deliver results as committed to customers.
  • You will coordinate and communicate with project leaders, project members and clients to keep them informed of progress and results in order to make best decisions
  • You will work with Senior and Chief consultants to apply JMAC Framework appropriately to each customers' condition.

Whom we are looking for:

  • Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering or related field. Master's degree and/or oversea education would be a plus.
  • More than 3 years working experience, preferable in manufacturing field.
  • Experience in leading or managing projects related to the following area:

  • Operation and Process analysis (necessary)

  • Productivity, Quality Improvement (necessary)
  • Cost reduction, Increase capacity, QCC, TPM, or similar projects (preferred)
  • Design, collect and data analysis (preferred)
  • Strong analytical skill, logical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable to present or speak in front of people, able to communicate and facilitate working discussion, strong inter-personality and leadership skills
  • Able to work independently, handle pressure or obtain output in limited time
  • Fluent in English communication, TOEIC 750, TOEFL 550, IELT 6.5. (Japanese language is not required but will be advantage).
  • Able to drive and have own car, able to work upcountry or overseas if assigned
