Intern – CommunicationsTGC EMC (Transport Component)
GIZ has been tasked to develop and implement the program 'Thai-German Cooperation on Energy, Mobility and Climate (TGC-EMC)' by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). The project aims at accelerating Thailand's energy and transport transition toward sustainability, ensuring economic growth and compatibility with high climate ambitions. The TGC-EMC consists of four outputs as follows:
· Output 1: Technology options to decarbonize the power, transport, and industry sectors have been further developed, and relevant stakeholders (e.g. ministries, utilities, agencies) have been empowered to utilize them
· Output 2: Recommendations for new or improved policy, market, and regulatory frameworks that support accelerated system transformation in the energy, transport, and industry sectors have been developed
· Output 3: Pilot solutions accelerating change towards carbon neutrality in the energy, transport, and industry sectors have been successfully tested in the City Lab
· Output 4: The Thai Climate Initiative (ThaiCI) serves as a financial mechanism to promote and enhance subnational climate actions in Thailand.
The TR component will support Thailand's efforts to reach carbon neutrality by 2050. Focusing on the transportation sector in terms of emissions, it will support the operationalization of the transport transition through technology and knowledge transfer as well as policy, regulatory and business model development support.
The intern will mainly focus on supporting Output 2 (policy, market, and regulatory frameworks) and Output 3 (pilot solutions and City Lab activities), with an emphasis on communications and knowledge-sharing tasks.
Responsibilities:· Assist in preparing communication and PR content such as newsletters, articles, social media posts, and press releases in both Thai and English
· Assist in the development of presentations, visualization materials and other knowledge products in Thai and English
· Support the organization and communication for project events such as trainings, workshops, and meetings (both online and onsite)
· Assist in documenting project activities through photography, short video editing, and note-taking
· Support research of relevant information for communication outputs in both Thai and English
· Other relevant tasks assigned by the project team
Qualifications:· Master's or senior bachelor's students in communications, journalism, public relations, or related fields
· Excellent writing and editing skills in both Thai and English, with ability to present key messages clearly and logically
· Strong interest in sustainable development, climate change, transport, or electric mobility
