**Summary**
The Manager, Manufacturing Equipment Engineering is responsible for leading and managing the employees who develop and/or source manufacturing equipment to support manufacturing operations goals. Scope of the role for employees may include design and development of equipment, qualification, deployment to manufacturing, improving performance and supporting programs to optimize efficiencies while maintaining a safe working environment.
**Detailed Description**
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
+ Initiate the development and implementation of off the shelf standard solutions and/or new standard automation solutions to support customer product road map using Celestica Automation E2E process and tools such as Business Case, Design for Automation Assembly (DFAA) and smart sheet Project Planning.
+ Initiate the hardware and software improvements of automated lines and off the shelf equipment, via the analysis of Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and other available data.
+ Lead the collaboration and the communication with multiple internal and external stakeholders including solution providers for design approval.
+ Point of escalation for complex technical problems.
+ Be accountable for the installation, qualification, maintenance and operational performance of complex equipment within a value stream or overall responsibility for common equipment sets across the entire factory.
+ Support capital planning processes with the leadership team, develop forecasts for equipment capacity and recommend CapEx plans to meet site targets.
+ Set yearly plans and goals for the department and give direction on expected performance and provide regular performance evaluations and ongoing feedback. Accountable for all department objectives and achieving agreed targets for key performance indicators.

**Summary**
We are seeking a seasoned **Thermal Management Engineer** with 10+ years of experience in **Surface Mount Technology (SMT)** electronics manufacturing. This role is pivotal in ensuring thermal reliability and performance of densely packed PCB assemblies, designing optimized heat dissipation solutions, and supporting product development from concept through production.
**Detailed Description**
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
+ Collaborate with cross functional teams (design, mechanical, assembly, reliability, test) to design and validate thermal solutions for high power, high density PCB assemblies (routers, switches, servers, AI accelerators).
+ Support the design and manufacturing teams to specify, select and manufacture the cooling hardware.
+ Lead the selection, specification and testing of thermal interface materials (TIMs), phase change materials, coatings, and liquid or hybrid cooling technologies.
+ Develop and refine thermal models to preform thermal and heat transfer calculations to define system cooling requirements and properties.
+ Support/lead thermal simulations (CFD, FEA) and empirical validation to insure design and hardware are delivering the desired performance and reliability requirements.
+ Collaborate with design, process, and quality teams to fulfil regulatory, customer compliance and industry standards with documentation and testing.
+ Support DFM and NPI efforts with a focus on thermal performance and manufacturability. Lead thermal risk assessments and contribute to DFMEA, FMEA and reliability planning.
+ Support root cause analysis of thermal-related failures.
+ Stay ahead of emerging cooling technologies and thermal/power management to support the company technology road mapping.
**Knowledge/Skills/Competencies**
+ Strong understanding of heat flux, conduction, convection, radiation and cooling methods in densely packed electronic assemblies.
+ Proficient in using thermal simulation tools such us ANSYS Icepak, Cadence, FloTHERM, COMSOL.
+ Direct experience with SMT processes, PCB material stuck-ups, and thermal management methods including heat sinks, liquid cooling, TIM, liquid metals.etc.
+ Solid knowledge of IPC and JEDEC thermal testing and reliability standards.
+ Proven problem solving ability, strong communication skills and effectiveness in cross-functional collaboration across design, process and manufacturing teams.
**Preferred Skills & Certifications:**
+ Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification
+ IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 familiarity
+ Experience with high-reliability sectors (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical, data centers)

We are seeking a highly experienced **SMT Manufacturing Engineer** to lead and optimize our surface mount technology operations. The ideal candidate will bring over a decade of hands-on expertise in high-volume electronics manufacturing, with a deep understanding of SMT processes, equipment, and quality systems. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement, ensuring process stability, and supporting new product introductions (NPI).

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
+ Support the company technology roadmaps and be up to date with the latest SMT industry trends and emerging technologies.
+ Lead the introduction, development, qualification and optimization of new products, equipment, processes and materials in SMT manufacturing.
+ Initiate new equipment evaluation, specification, selection and qualification (e.g., pick-and-place, reflow ovens, Plasma, AOI, SPI,.etc).
+ Lead new processes evaluation and characterization through comprehensive Design of Experiments.
+ Drive process improvements using Lean-Six-Sigma, statistical process control (SPC) and best known methodologies.
+ Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and corrective actions.
+ Develop and maintain process documentation, including PFMEAs, work instructions, and control plans.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams on DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and new products introduction, development and flawless launch.
+ Ensure compliance with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) and ISO quality systems.
+ Support audits, customer visits, and technical reviews.
+ Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
**Knowledge/Skills/Competencies**
+ Proven expertise in SMT processes development and troubleshooting, (e.g. paste printing, pick and place, automated inspection, wave soldering.etc)
+ Familiarity with industry-standard equipment (e.g., Fuji, ASM, DEK, Vitronics, Koh Young).
