Role & Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of automation improvement plans to achieve Automation and control strategy
• Ensure that all items of control system are maintained to the appropriate standard
• Review, update and develop of automation standard operation procedure
• Provide support of site automation and integration standards when working with capital engineering and external contractors for standard adherence
• Assist development and participate in execution of FAT, SAT, Commissioning and Computerized System Validation (CSV) protocols related to process automation and control systems
• Supervise to minimum processing machines and equipment downtown safety  and quality standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic, Mechatronic, Automation or Electrical Engineering
• Have direct experience at least 5 years in maintenance and project of automation system
• Understand and experienced apply standard of ISA/IEC 62443 in the Operation Technology system is a plus
• Strong communication, people management and influencing skills
• Good command of written and spoken in English

The MPDE Automation Manager will lead a team of automation engineers tasked with developing assembly processes for high-speed cable assemblies and coordinating with the Thailand manufacturing engineering team on the transition to mass production.

Job Responsibilities:

• Allocate and balance the allocation of work across direct reports; review and provide timely performance feedback to direct reports; mentor, develop and motivate them; help resolve people/functional issues in the team to achieve targeted performance and retain key talent.

• Lead a team of engineers who will:

• Develop cable assembly automation lines in accordance with LEANPD product development

• Drive for excellence in existing automation technologies and methods
• Strive to implement new automation technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control
• Support Product Development in the optimization designs (DFM) and piece parts for automation manufacturability; realizes proof of concept tooling, product samples and prototypes.
• Design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE Data and Devices quality and production standards.

• Support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability.

• Act as the binding element between product development and automation engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface.

• Maintain communication with project management team to understand current and future strategic business needs
• Prioritize and time manage a portfolio of projects/work efforts based on criticality and business need
• Provide readouts to Director and VP level cross function management as necessary
• Work with Thailand operations team to assign resources necessary for the successful execution of new automation development
• Facilitate and coordinate cross-function communication across globally matrixed organization

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor or above degree with mechanical/electric related majors;
• At least 5 years related experience managerial level in multinational manufacturing site;
• Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma. etc. industrial methods/tools;
• With 2 years or above work experience in cable assembly automation is preferred;
• Fluent in English and good presentation skills;
• Familiar with MS software;
• Familiar with industrial specification (i.e. IPC 620)
