Key Responsibilities:
To manage and to develop a portfolio of customers respecting the company's strategy, by creating and maintaining customer intimacy to understand the clients' needs and provide suitable logistics solution in a timely manner, increasing the satisfaction level of our customers and meeting growth projections and defined KPIS.
Customer Management
- Make sure you are familiar with all the details of the current operation (volumes, qualities, new trends, etc. …)
- help to find solutions for situations where performance is below standard, or find justified explanations why solutions are not available
- identify and address any aspect of the business that result in a commercial impact => create a supporting file with regards to each aspect
- follow up and report on improvement initiatives
- Make sure that the client is included in the different projects: communicate and clearly define responsibilities and accountability per project
- Negotiate and renegotiate contracts « ad hoc » + annual
- Ensure that the contract file is always up to date: principal contract, addendums, letters of intent, written notifications
- Play an important role in an opportunistic manner for every contact with the client, such as:
- a supporting role in operational meetings (monthly)
- a main role, with the operations manager, in the client meetings (quarterly)
- an organizational role in board meeting (annual)
- Work actively on the "customer intimacy. This may imply informal activities outside hours, so as to create a relationship of trust and professional friendship.
Commercial:
Ensure and analyze the profitable of the project
- Analyze the financial reporting and submit the supporting Management Letter highlighting the key aspects
- Continually follow-up on the development of the file through quantitively analysis, statistical reviews, benchmarking etc., to anticipate important changes
- In collaboration with BSO & BSG work on finding opportunities for continuous improvement (e.g.: improve productivity, automation, cost-saving alternatives, etc.…)
- Control the tariffs: are they realistic, are they in line with the budget? If not, why?
- Invoicing: Responsible for approving the final invoice
- Follow the trends of the specific industry/sector and compare this to the current operation. Communicate any deviations or differences with regards to this to the client and where necessary justify this difference
- Throughout the year, and specifically in the 3rd quarter, thoroughly prepare for annual negotiations
- In Q4, prepare the budget together with the operations manager.
Identify and develop opportunities with client.
- Know and communicate internally the developments of the client and their business. (growth, geographical expansion, strategic decisions, organizational changes etc.…)
- Know / analyze KTN's market share within the total supply chain of the customer
- Map out other companies within the same holding / group and check what the logistic needs are
- Based on all of this: create a potential hitlist and mobilize within the organization the required resources in order to realize some of this potential.
Quality
- Perform activities following standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Maintain and update inventory control records on product since receiving until dispatch
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in all areas
Safety
- Maintain safety standards and ensure a safe working environment
- Wear and ensure personal protective safety equipment are used at all times
Report Management
- Produce the Management reports as needed
- Regular update report to customer under accounts and direct line manager
- Other assignments assigned by superior
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree, or equivalent
- 3-5 years' experience in Logistics, Supply Chain or Warehouse Management – environment
- Background in a B2B function, ideally within the logistics sector
- Team player with excellent leadership, good interpersonal skills, analytical, problem-solving
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel
- Good Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
- Be able to think out of the box and innovative approach
- Enthusiastic with a positive attitude and good interpersonal skills
- Perform well under pressure in a dynamic, target oriented and challenging environment
