About The Job
Based at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok within the Director of Engineering and Projects Department, the Director of Engineering and Projects develops and executes the overall strategy and vision for Oversee the strategic direction of general projects related to the enhancement of the hotel. The project management covers the areas of planning, administration, implementation, and evaluation of the financial results of the projects. The reports are directly to the Deputy General Manager.

Responsibilities

• To be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the hotel building, physical plant, and engineering facilities for efficient and safe operation.
• Manage all CAPEX projects according to the group's policies and procedures.
• To organize and administer the engineering department to ensure that effective work control and productivity are maintained.
• To direct and supervise the implementation of an effective work order and trouble report system, together with other day-to-day work of general maintenance, is carried out efficiently.
• To draw up preventive maintenance schedules for every item of mechanical and electrical plants and requirements for the preventive maintenance programme.
• To ensure that all items of plants and equipment are operated efficiently.
• To monitor daily the efficiency of all working plant machinery, either directly or through a supervisor, and establish a training programme as necessary, especially to take an active interest in fire safety and security.
• To conduct all works involving outside contractors or consultants, draw up relevant specifications, and assess the quotations.
• To contact and follow up closely to ensure that works are completed according to specification and within the required period.
• To maintain contact with local authorities such as the fire brigade, electricity supply sources, water supply, city building, and health inspectors, etc., to ensure that all requirements are being complied with advice and assistance.
• To study and periodically review the terms of all utility supply contracts to determine whether these are the most advantageous that can be obtained.

The Datacenter Infrastructure Engineering team supports the company's fast growth by building and operating hyperscale datacenters. The team manages the end to end lifecycle of server fleet, providing cloud solutions and various infrastructure services ensuring that they are scalable and are reliable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the datacenter operations team for Bangkok
