About the role

As an Engineering Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the engineering department on site. This full-time position is based in Koh Kaew, Phuket.

It is worth mentioning that the construction is already ongoing. We need an experienced individual to collaborate with our existing engineers.

• Supervise and coordinate the work of the team to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery
• Provide technical guidance to team members
• Monitor project progress, identify and resolve any issues or setbacks
• Participate in the planning and execution of engineering projects
• Implement and maintain safety protocols and procedures
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports to senior management

• A bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• Experience in a supervisory role in construction
• Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in engineering principles and practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and safety standards
• Active knowledge of English and Thai.

Report to: Facilities Manager/ Assistant Facilities Manager

Position Summary

The Engineering Supervisor serves as the primary technical expert and operational arm of the Facilities Management department. This role is responsible for translating the strategic plans of the Facilities Manager and the coordinated work orders from the Facilities Assistant into effective, hands-on action. The Engineering Supervisor will directly perform, supervise, and ensure the quality of all technical maintenance, repairs, and project work related to the school's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. The ultimate goal is to ensure the school's physical infrastructure is safe, efficient, and fully supports an optimal learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

To support the goals of the Facilities Manager, the Engineering Supervisor's responsibilities are divided into five core areas:

1. Technical Maintenance and Repairs

• Corrective Maintenance: Serve as the lead technical responder for all complex system failures reported through the CAFM system. Conduct in-depth diagnostics to identify root causes and perform advanced repairs or technically supervise the Technician's work.
• Preventive Maintenance: Execute the comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule as planned by the Facilities Manager. Perform technical inspections and servicing of all MEP systems, HVAC, life-safety equipment, and other critical infrastructure.
• Parts and Materials: Liaise with the procurement process by providing precise technical specifications for spare parts and materials needed for repairs, prioritizing orders that are critical for business continuity.

2. Supervision of Contractors & Outsourced Services

• Contractor and Outsource Control: Act as the on-site technical supervisor for both in-house technicians and external service providers (e.g., PCS). Monitor and inspect their work to ensure it meets the school's quality standards, technical specifications, and safety requirements.
• Quality Assurance: Enforce high standards of workmanship and ensure that all outsourced maintenance and repair jobs are completed efficiently and in accordance with the service level agreement.

3. Renovation and Project Support

• Renovation Work: Provide hands-on technical support for renovation, refurbishment, and capital improvement projects managed by the Facilities Manager.
• On-site Supervision: Oversee the technical aspects of on-site work performed by construction contractors, including inspecting materials, ensuring correct installation of systems, and verifying adherence to engineering drawings and plans.

4. Energy Management and Conservation

• Energy Conservation: Actively monitor the Building Management System (BMS) to track energy consumption patterns. Propose and implement technical adjustments to optimize the performance of major systems, particularly HVAC, to reduce energy costs.
• System Optimization: Regularly assess system performance and recommend technical solutions or upgrades to enhance efficiency and support the school's sustainability goals.

5. Safety and Compliance Support

• Safety Support: Take direct responsibility for the maintenance and readiness of all life-safety systems, including fire alarms, elevators, and swimming pool equipment.
• Safe Work Practices: Ensure that all engineering work, whether performed by in-house staff or contractors, strictly adheres to the school's health and safety protocols and Permit to Work systems.
• Child Protection: Uphold the school's child safeguarding policy at all times. Promptly report any injuries, incidents, or near-miss events according to school procedures.

Documentation & Reporting

• Record Keeping: Create and maintain detailed maintenance logs, inspection reports, and technical data for all equipment.
• Asset Information Management: Collect technical data on assets and equipment to support the Facilities Manager in maintaining an accurate inventory of all school assets.
• Performance Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports summarizing operational performance, issues encountered, and work completed to the Engineering Section Head

Academic & Professional Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role at a comparable organization. Proven success and experience working in a hotel, service-related industry, or international school is highly desirable.
• Preferred Experience: Previous experience in an international school or educational setting is preferred.
