As a Field Application Engineer (FAE) in the AMBU Manufacturing Team, you will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations through technical expertise, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. You will ensure product performance, resolve technical issues, and contribute to continuous improvement across production sites.

Your main role is to:
  • Respond to technical inquiries from internal teams and customers related to manufacturing processes and product performance.
  • Provide product training to manufacturing teams and customers to ensure proper understanding and usage.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and integration into manufacturing lines.
  • Collaborate with process engineers to identify and implement improvements in production efficiency and product quality.
  • Conduct regular product audits at manufacturing sites to ensure compliance with SN, TS, and ECN standards.
  • Work closely with R&D, QA, and Product Marketing teams to address technical challenges and feedback from manufacturing.
  • Liaise with the RMA team to analyze and resolve product returns and failures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of technical issues, resolutions, and process changes.
  • Summarize weekly reports outlining current tasks, challenges, and action plans.
  • Support customer visits and audits at manufacturing sites.
  • Identify opportunities for product or process improvements based on customer feedback and application needs.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, and Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in customer-facing technical roles.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, control panels, and industrial machinery.
  • Experience with switching power supplies and related components is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Chinese language proficiency is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SEA region manufacturing practices and customer networks is an advantage.

Field Application Engineer
?
We are looking for an experienced, results-driven Field Application Engineer (FAE) to apply product knowledge of LMI sensors and networking products to support sales activities at a technical level. The FAE works closely with customers to resolve technical issues as well as interact with sales team members to support successful sales outcomes. Activities include timely response to application testing, code snippet development, troubleshooting, traveling with sales reps to assess the technical requirements of customers, recommending appropriate product solutions, and general support of the sales process to grow business for the region.

  • Frequent visits to potential customer site to support pre-sales activity at a technical level
  • Perform -testing of samples sent in by customers (to determine if our sensors meet the application requirements) and report results.
  • Work closely with customers to identify technical requirements and propose solutions for customer's applications
  • Create software that is used for test, demonstration and evaluation purposes to promote the use and sale of LMI products. All software is created within the R&D software design guidelines and in cooperation with the R&D department
  • Provide training or product demonstrations to existing and potential customers on LMI's premises or at the customer's premises
  • Develop strong relationships with key customer personnel at technical levels
  • Log all customer support interactions in LMI's customer support ticketing software, ensure these records are updated regularly, and issues are resolved in the quickest time possible
  • Produce technical sales materials in cooperation with the sales and marketing departments
  • Produce training materials in cooperation with the sales and marketing departments
  • To be familiar with all of LMI's processes for sales and marketing and work within and support these processes
  • To learn and become proficient in the operation, characteristics and performance of all LMI sensor products
  • Support the sales team in preparing for trade shows and attend these shows when necessary
  • Continually provide feedback as to how LMI's products or services can be improved to enhance our customer's experience

What do you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor of Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in the high technology industry / factory automation industry working on various projects relating to their area of study
  • Minimum of 2-3 years customer service experience or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry standards and best practices in their discipline
  • Excellent knowledge of tools required by their discipline (Software – Visual Studio (C, C#, VB.NET), Labview, PLC programming, Mechanical – SolidWorks, Electronics – Wiring and setup, basic soldering skills) with demonstrated ability in past project accomplishments
  • Problem solving skills using a clear understanding of facts and implementation of test plans and solution strategies
  • Solid interpersonal skills for proper function in a team environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office and Google products
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills
  • Self-motivated, have a positive attitude and a results oriented approach to business
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • A valid passport and the ability to travel frequently domestically or internationally.

  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to digital signage software, hardware, networking, and content management systems. This includes working with APIs, debugging code, and analyzing system logs.
  • Customer Advocacy: Act as a technical liaison between the customer and our internal engineering and product development teams, translating customer feedback and issues into actionable insights for product improvement.
  • Knowledge Management: Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including knowledge base articles, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides to empower both customers and internal support staff.
  • Escalation Management: Manage the end-to-end escalation process for high-priority technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Product Expertise: Become a subject matter expert on all aspects of our digital signage and music streaming platforms and technologies, from installation and configuration to advanced features and integrations.
  • Training & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and training to other support team members, acting as a resource for their professional development.
Requirements

  • Language (mandatory): This role requires a native Thai speaker with a near native level of English language ability. Please do not apply for the role, unless you meet this requirement.
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in a technical customer support or similar role, with at least 2 years ideally in the digital signage or AV/IT industry. We will consider people with less years experience who have a strong background in technical customer support.
  • Thailand Based (mandatory): This is not a role that supports working visas or sponsorship. Applicants must already be living and working in Thailand, and have unrestricted rights to work without needing visas or work permits.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of digital signage players, networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), cloud-based software (SaaS), and APIs. Proficiency with various operating systems (Windows, Linux, Android), AV and hardware components. Experience with content management systems is a plus. We will consider applicants who may not meet all of these technical requirements, if they possess a strong background in technical customer support. The candidate may be required to go onsite with customers from time to time.
  • Problem-Solving (mandatory): Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication (mandatory): Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simplified way.
  • Customer Focus (mandatory): A passion for delivering outstanding customer service and a proven track record of managing difficult customer situations effectively.
