POSITION SUMMARY

Verify training and development activities are linked to the organization's mission and vision. Assist with development and learning delivery of brand and service-related topics. Support planning and execution of key learning delivery and leadership development activities. Facilitate specified on-property training, including core required training and brand training for hourly associates, supervisors, and leaders. Maintain knowledge on brand and leadership development tools and resources. Assist leaders with their resources and development as requested/appropriate.

Monitor compliance of required training, including training programs for new hires and brand training initiatives. Work directly with human resources and operations leaders to support compliance for all required training. Understand and utilize learning technology platforms and manage Learning Coordinator responsibilities to support the hotel's training needs. Participate fully in the Field Trainer Network and partner with the continent learning organization to verify that updated programs and processes are pulled through for the hotel. Develop training aids and multi-media tools to present training material. Order and manage inventory of training materials and supplies. Prepare for training classes (e.g., materials, setup classes, breakdown classes).

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information. Speak with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. POSITION PURPOSE:

The Operating Discipline and Training Coordinator ensures that employees across all departments are fully trained to operate equipment and machinery safely, correctly, and efficiently in alignment with established standards. This role works closely with department managers to develop and deliver training programs and to create clear, accurate procedures covering equipment start-up, shutdown, maintenance, emergency actions, compliance, and day-to-day operations.

The Coordinator is also responsible for training employees on these programs, assisting with procedure development, collecting and analyzing completed procedures, sharing performance data, and creating improvement plans. Additionally, this position maintains an active library of documented procedures and serves as a member of the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) team, providing daily guidance on safe work practices. By championing operating discipline, the Coordinator supports safe, effective, and consistent performance across all NatureWorks operations.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Perform facility hazard assessments and observe work practices to ensure compliance with safety standards; recommend and implement improvements as needed.
  • Initiate and coordinate industrial hygiene assessments, including sampling and communicating results.
  • Actively participate in presenting monthly safety topics as directed.
  • Demonstrate high regard for EH&S standards by serving as a role model to others.

Training & Development:

  • Support leadership in setting annual safety and training goals, as well as performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and engineering teams to design detailed operational training programs.
  • Develop, prepare, and deliver training manuals for production, maintenance, and other departments; evaluate results to ensure effectiveness.
  • Revise and update training manuals as needed, and retrain departments accordingly.
  • Maintain and report on training progress at regular intervals.
  • Develop and manage training schedules, budgets, and the training matrix for all teams; continuously improve and update training records. Work closely with the HR team to ensure compliance with all training requirement.
  • Serve as the primary contact for UKG training management.

Communication & Document Control:

  • Conduct safety meetings and training sessions to promote awareness and understanding of company policies and safe work practices.
  • Act as the site resource for safety and health information, including procedures, guidelines, Management of Change (MOC) processes, and standards.
  • Serve as the focal point for document control, including routing and recordkeeping.
  • Participate in Operations meetings to address health and safety concerns.
  • Champion procedure usage policy and assist/coach others in compliance.

QUALIFICATION:

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor degree in related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a chemical, plastics, or related manufacturing facility.
  • 0–2+ years of experience in a Safety & Health–related role (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of industry Health & Safety regulations, standards, and operating disciplines.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and develop others.
  • Experience developing and facilitating training programs.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Hands-on approach with a strong understanding of process operations.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

  • Split between office and chemical/plastics manufacturing facility environments.
  • Primarily a daytime work schedule, with occasional on-call duty during nights and weekends to support facility operations.
  • May require irregular hours at times to meet critical facility needs.
  • Regular use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, etc.).
  • Sitting and computer-based work.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds, following company safety and ergonomic guidelines to prevent injury.

  1. Ensures that employees across all departments are fully trained to operate equipment and machinery safely, correctly, and efficiently in alignment with established standards.
  2. This role works closely with Department Managers to develop and deliver training programs and to create clear, accurate procedures covering equipment start-up, shutdown, maintenance, emergency actions, compliance, and day-to-day operations.
  3. Responsible for training employees on these programs, assisting with procedure development, collecting and analyzing completed procedures, sharing performance data, and creating improvement plans.
  4. Maintains an active library of documented procedures and serves as a member of the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) team, providing daily guidance on safe work practices. By championing operating discipline, the Coordinator supports safe, effective, and consistent performance across all company operations.
