This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who loves tech, enjoys tinkering, and wants to grow into a true IT generalist/engineer. If you have a homelab or enjoy experimenting with new technologies and figuring out how to automate the boring stuff — you'll fit right in.

What You'll Do

• Build & Improve Systems

• Deploy and maintain self-hosted services (intranet, wikis, automation platforms, internal reporting).

• Consolidate and migrate away from fragmented SaaS tools where it makes sense.
• Implement backups, monitoring, identity federation (SSO/LDAP), and access controls.
• Experiment with new tools and roll out the ones that stick.
• Introduce new technologies to improve customer experience and/or improve operations.

• Infrastructure

• Spin up and maintain VMs and containers.

• Assist with planning, procurement, and rollout of IT infra in new gyms (front desk PCs, tablets, servers, networking, CCTV VMS, access control).
• Set up monitoring tools.
• Document deployments and improve our internal playbooks.

• Data & Reporting

• Support development of an internal reporting/data lake setup.

• Help design data flows, storage, and basic dashboards.

• Software Development (Optional, Nice-to-Have)

• If you have skills in frontend (React, modern JS frameworks) or backend (ideally C#), you'll get the chance to contribute to Stonegoat's internal apps.

• Otherwise, you'll still learn how our systems integrate with custom software.

• Occasional Support

• Provide first line support (basic troubleshooting) for front desk and staff devices.

What We're Looking For

• Familiarity with virtualization (Proxmox or VMware) and containerization (Docker / LXC / Kubernetes).
• Comfortable with Linux command line and Windows.
• Knowledgeable or curious about IT infrastructure: networking, storage, backups, automation.
• Self-motivated and enjoys learning by doing (labs, projects, tinkering).
• Good at documenting and explaining what you've built.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Your own homelab or personal tech projects.
• Exposure to scripting/automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python) or software development skills.
• Knowledge of databases (Postgres/MySQL) or data pipelines.
• Familiarity with firewalls (OPNsense/pfSense).
