Job Description
Ares Asia Credit team is looking to hire an Investment Analyst or Associate to join its Investment team based in Thailand. As part of the investment team, the individual will help to make direct special situations and credit investments. The individual will perform in-depth analysis on potential investment opportunities and build up a detailed understanding of the industry, the competitive dynamics therein and the target company.
The work will involve both desktop research, such as analysis and modelling of financial accounts, as well as on-the-ground work. While the work will be primarily based in Thailand, the role will have a pan-Asia scope and may require the candidate to travel within Asia. The individual will also assist in deal execution, the ongoing management and exit of investments.
We are looking for self-motivated individuals with a strong interest in investing and a desire to gain exposure to a wide variety of industries and transaction structures. Individuals comfortable in a fast-paced environment will be best suited for the role.
Primary Functions And Essential Responsibilities
- Work directly with senior investment professionals on new and existing deals

Your Role
This Investment Analyst Intern will support the Investment Managers and Associates in sourcing, developing, and supporting the existing portfolio of Kiva's partnership-based impact investments, with a focus on countries in South and Southeast Asia. Primary Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis: Input lending partner financials and risk metrics into standardized templates, follow up with partners to resolve any issues, and review financial analysis outputs.
- Interest Rate/Borrower Cost Analysis: Assess the total cost of the loan product offered by field partners in comparison with the local and regional markets.
- Due Diligence: Support due diligence processes of potential investments to help assess prospects' financial and social performance, and mission fit with Kiva.
- Macro-level Risk Analysis: Conduct a Country/Regional-level risk analysis of the credit industry, including the regulatory environment, market saturation and over-indebtedness, currency exchange risk, and current industry trends.
- Operations management: Manage and maintain up-to-date documentation related to lending partners in Kiva's various systems. Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all projects.
