Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer who will be responsible for the development and oversight of manufacturing processes supporting our optical transceiver roadmap. The successful candidate will work closely with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and internal cross-functional development teams to meet product objectives and instill a culture of quality and continuous improvement. The engineer must be eager to learn and explore new processes and solutions for high-volume manufacturing of optical transceivers used in AI data centers.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Define, develop, prove and deploy the manufacturing process for new products and implement continuous improvement projects to achieve product yield, throughput, efficiency, scrap and quality targets.
- Responsible for manufacturing process documentation, and reviewing and approving the processes implemented on the production line.
- End-to-end manufacturing ownership: Ensure all the changes to product, processes, materials, etc. are under change control and follow established QMS requirements.
- Collaborate with design engineering and contract manufacturing teams to execute, improve and sustain the manufacturing processes. Ensure design for manufacturing (DFM) guidelines are met.
- Collaborate with the quality team for planning and execution of qualification testing.
- Prepare process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarising information and trends.
- Automate all manufacturing processes, where possible.
- Engage with equipment selection, create the statement of purpose, work with suppliers and stakeholders in developing the algorithm, machine hardware, software from buy-off to release in manufacturing.
Skills/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field, plus 7 years experience in high-volume optical transceiver and/or laser manufacturing.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- In-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience in design, development, selection, implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, materials, and methodologies for the optical assemblies.
- Expert in one or more of the optical transceiver assembly processes, such as wire bond, die bond, active optical alignment, product testing, burn-in, etc.
- Expertise in data analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and report generation.
- In depth understanding of the quality management system and quality standard requirements.
- Data query and data analysis skills with using statistical tool and techniques

**Summary**
The Lead Engineer, Manufacturing Process is responsible for designing, developing, deploying and optimizing processes for manufacturing to achieve quality cost and delivery goals for Celestica and its customers products.
**Detailed Description**
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
+ Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes to support customer products.
+ Develop application software and tooling for a comprehensive set of complex machines and mechanical process steps within a manufacturing sector.
+ Implement plan and lead the assessment of the capability of machines and process applications using Design of Experiments and statistical methods across the full manufacturing process, ensuring maximum utilization of critical resources, maximum throughput, minimum cost and capacity growth.
+ Lead disciplined process for solving complex single stage or multistage product, process, component, and related problems that affect the efficient operation and/or manufacture of products through the full manufacturing process.
+ Initiate and lead the assessment and provide feedback to product designers on suitability of designs for manufacturability.
