This position is located in the Population and Social Statistics Section, in the Statistics Division. The incumbent reports to the Chief of Population and Social Statistics Section.
**Responsibilities**:
Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Population and Social Statistics Section, and overall supervision of the Director, Statistics Division, the incumbent is required to perform the following functions:
- Independently identifies and monitors substantive aspects of the work of the Section/Division in various regions/countries and provides full range of data analysis assistance at all phases of a data analysis initiative, typically, a large and highly complex component of the departmental data analysis initiatives, seeking guidance only in exceptional circumstances.
- Selects and evaluates a variety of documents, summarizes pertinent material, collects and analyses data and prepares background materials for assessment papers, studies, briefs and reports.
- Systematically follows through and retrieves, highlights and compiles information from a wide variety of information sources; prepares input for the electronic database and the internet and co-operates with governmental agencies including National Statistical Offices, research institutes and organizations in the collection of data.
- Prepares charts, graphs and other outputs for reporting and presentation of various data.
- Assists in formulating project proposals and co-ordinates day-to-day monitoring and implementation of these projects, including project management.
- Produces analytical, quantitative and qualitative elements required for the elaboration of documents and reports contained in the regular work programme and extraordinary work assigned to the Section/Division.
- Carries out preparatory work for and assists in organizing face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid Committee/Task Force meetings and workshops. Drafts agenda and procedural notes for meetings of various committees.
- Participates in technical meetings, conferences, and seminars. Serves as Secretary to committees, ad hoc task forces, etc.; takes notes, draft summary reports, minutes, notes for the files or assessment reports for presentation to the head of the Branch/Unit; monitors follow-up actions, etc.
- Liaises with relevant parties both outside (delegates, NGOs) and inside the Organization.
- Drafts and edits complicated, complex and often technical texts and correspondence and communications related to all aspects of data analysis, including information on available data sets, data catalogues and data analysis, revisions and other related issues, as well as preparing unit contributions for a variety of periodic reports.
- Prepares newsletters on programme/project-related activities, data analysis activities; drafts inputs for a wide range of documents/reports, briefings/debriefings, correspondence, etc.
- Processes information gathered (background, data, statistics, etc.) using various computer programmes and periodically updates the information to allow its distribution and easy access by multiple and potential users.
- Tracks resolutions and other legislative decisions that affect programme/project content and oversees the preparation of the relevant databases to ensure the incorporation of programmatic and other changes enacted by legislations.
- May undertake mission/field work in support of above activities.
- May provide guidance and support to more junior staff and review work assignments, provide training and inputs to performance evaluation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

If you are passionate in contributing to original and innovative scientific research, we are looking for a dedicated Research personnel to conduct both quantitative and qualitative research releted to tropical aquaculture in Thailand
As a Research Assistant (or Associate), your main responsibility will be to work with the research team of the Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management (AARM) Program at AIT to conduct several research projects. The first research assignment will be to conduct a social survey as part of the Fish Welfare Project to evaluate how perceptions, attitudes, beliefs, and norms affect the farming practices and consumer behaviours in Thailand. You will collaborate closely with our research team to develop a comprehensive questionnaire in Thai language and conduct the survey by interacting (via conducting face to face, telephone and internet interviews) with different stakeholder groups (farmers, traders, government officers, NGOs, wider society, and consumers for example).
**Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with the research team to develop research proposals and plan research trials.
- Conduct research trials, collect and analyze data based on the research objectives and work plan.
- Develop survey questionnaires on fish welfare attitudes and other social research projects.
- Implement the survey using various platforms and methodologies, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Engaging with the stakeholders through interviews and focus groups
- Conduct data analysis and interpret survey results to identify trends and patterns.
- Assist in writing research reports, highlighting key findings and their implications.
- Contribute to research manuscripts for publication in high impact scientific journals.
**Requirements**:
- Good communication skills in English to engage with the research team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in Thai to engage with partners effectively.
- Knowledge of computer-assisted interviews and data collection and statistical analysis software will be an advantage.
- Previous experience in research or survey projects is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Passion for research ethics and animal welfare is a plus.

**THE OPPORTUNITY**
The role is accountable for performance and compliance for assigned protocols and sites in a country. Under the oversight of the CRA manager the person ensures compliance of study conduct with ICH/GCP and country regulations, Merck policies and procedures, quality standards and adverse event reporting requirements internally and externally. Acts as primary site contact and site manager throughout all phases of a clinical research study, taking overall responsibility of allocated sites. Actively develops and expand the territory for clinical research, finding and developing new sites and participates in internal meetings and workstreams as SME for monitoring processes and systems.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develops strong site relationships and ensures continuity of site relationships through all phases of the trial.
- Performs clinical study site management/monitoring activities in compliance with ICH-GCP, Sponsor SOPs, Local Laws & Regulations, Protocol, Site Monitoring Plan and associated documents.
- Gains an in-depth understanding of the study protocol and related procedures.
- Coordinates & manages various tasks in collaboration with other sponsor roles to achieve Site Ready.
- Participates & provides inputs on site selection and validation activities.
- Performs remote and on-site monitoring & oversight activities using various tools to ensure:
- Data generated at site are complete, accurate and unbiased

- Communicates with Investigators and site staff on issues related to protocol conduct, recruitment, retention, protocol deviations, regulatory documentation, site audits/inspections and overall site performance.
- Identifies, assesses, and resolves site performance, quality or compliance problems and escalates per defined CRA Escalation Pathway as appropriate in collaboration with CRA manager, CRM and if applicable, RCPM.
- Manages and maintains information and documentation in CTMS, eTMF and various other systems as appropriate and per timelines.
- Contributes strongly to CRA team knowledge by acting as process Subject Matter Expert (SME), sharing best practices, making recommendations for continuous improvement, and providing training as appropriate/required.
- Supports and/or leads audit/inspection activities as needed.
- Following the country strategy defined by CRD and CRA manager, contributes to the identification of new potential sites and works closely with them to develop strong clinical research capabilities
- Mentors / buddies junior CRAs on process/study requirements and performs co-monitoring visits where appropriate
- Could perform Quality control visits if delegated by other roles and trained appropriately
**WHAT YOU MUST HAVE**
**To be successful in this role, you will have strong technical skills as well as business capabilities. The requirements are as follows**:
- Bachelor of Sciences with strong emphasis in science and/or biology would be preferred.
- Minimum 4-5 Years of clinical research experience which may include Clinical Trial Assistant, Study Coordinator, Regulatory CTC etc.
- Fluent in Local Languages and English (verbal and written) and excellent communication skills, including the ability to understand technical information. Developing ability to present technical information with support.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of clinical research, phases of clinical trials, current GCP/ICH & country clinical research law & guidelines.
- Good understanding of Global, Country/Regional Clinical Research Guidelines and ability to work within these guidelines.
