The University of Tokyo, in collaboration with the JICA Expert Team, is seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to join our SATREPS project ''Data-Driven Transport Management in Emerging Metropolis for Climate Change Mitigation".

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Research:

• Collect, summarise, and organise research data and documentation
• Conduct data verification and manipulation for a GIS model of Bangkok's road network
• Perform basic data processing, visualisation, and analysis using Python or other programming/scripting languages
• Maintain and operate traffic survey equipment safely and effectively
• Handle camera drone operations for traffic surveys
• Manage permit applications for drone deployment with relevant authorities

Project Coordination:

• Facilitate communication between JICA Expert Team members and counterpart researchers
• Arrange meetings among project members and meetings with external organisations
• Attend meetings (online/in-person) and prepare detailed minutes
• Assist in preparing documentation, letters, and presentation materials
• Support general project administration activities

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or higher from any field or currently pursuing a university degree.
• Basic knowledge in either GIS (Geographic Information Systems) or Python
• Strong spoken and written language skills in both English and Thai
• Ability to work independently and as part of an international team
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Preferred:

• Basic knowledge in both GIS and Python will be favourably considered
• Experience with data analysis or research projects
• Willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies

A full-time commitment covering all these tasks is preferred, but part-time commitment is also possible.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Research Assistant within our AI Research team, you will support the development and advancement of medical AI by assisting in data preparation, analysis, and experimentation. You will work closely with AI researchers, engineers, and clinicians to ensure high-quality research outcomes that contribute directly to improving healthcare through innovative AI technologies.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in organizing, cleaning, annotating, and formatting medical imaging datasets to prepare for AI model development.
• Work closely with ML engineers to drive data analysis workflows, taking primary responsibility for data analysis through data visualization, pattern recognition, anomaly detection, and clinical expertise, while providing comprehensive summarization of findings to support model improvements
• Conduct literature reviews and maintain documentation of relevant academic papers in deep learning and medical imaging, while assisting with scientific manuscript preparation, submission processes, and IRB requests.
• Help design and conduct small-scale experiments and evaluations under the supervision of senior researchers.
• Write and maintain clear documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate research progress and findings.
• Lead automation initiatives for data processing, labeling, and testing activities by identifying needs and coordinating with ML engineers for tool development and maintenance in support of research objectives.
• Collaborate effectively with researchers, engineers, and healthcare professionals to streamline workflows and optimize research outcomes.
• Stay updated on new developments in AI and medical imaging to support continuous learning within the team.
• Independently manage personal workload and project timelines, proactively communicating capacity constraints or availability for additional responsibilities to ensure optimal team productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields; recent graduates are welcome to apply.
• Strong attention to detail with good organizational, time-management, and analytical skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
• Good communication skills in English and/or Thai for documenting and sharing research progress.

Preferred Qualifications

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver timely, accurate, and actionable market share analyses across categories, channel, and competitors using NIQ, Kantar, and internal dashboard.
• Master in conducting consumer research from end to end starting from identify proper methodology, right information to be obtained, and analytic work plan to ensure all information is generated to support business needs.
• Partner with external research agencies to execute project that meet : research objective, quality, timeline, and budget.
• Identify emerging trends, and unmet needs that can unlock strategic opportunities with evidence-based insights.
• Collaborate with Brand Building team and Brand Innovation team to utilize data and deliver detailed understanding of consumer insights.

Qualification
- Bachelor or Master Degree in marketing, economics, management or statistics
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in local and international research preferably with FMCG background
- Experience in developing, executing, and leading analysis both consumer research and shopper research, both Quantitative and Qualitative. Good project management skill for agency coordination.
- Experience in retail audit data (preferably Nielsen, or retailer-based analytics), SPSS is not necessary but an advantage. Knowledge of KANTAR Home Panel is a plus.
- Good teamwork, logical & strong analytical, proficient in data visualization, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in windows office software packages (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint)

Skills And Experience
