The opportunity:

The Site Manager Onshore/Offshore holds full responsibility for the seamless execution of all activities and services under the scope of Hitachi Energy on the designated onshore station or platform. This pivotal role ensures delivery within schedule and budget, in strict accordance with contract requirements, while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. For offshore assignments, the Site Manager Offshore must adeptly manage the complexities of remote logistics and adherence to marine regulations. Success in this environment requires flexibility, advanced problem-solving skills, and strong leadership to oversee both yard and offshore operations.

How you'll make an impact:

• You will act as the primary representative of Hitachi Energy on onshore or offshore converter station projects, overseeing civil construction (onshore), installation, and commissioning activities.
• You will serve as the main interface with customers and external parties on all contractual matters, cultivating positive relationships with local authorities, partners, subcontractors, and relevant organizations.
• You will manage workforce planning and site activities to ensure achievement of contractual milestones and project objectives, ensure all site personnel are well-informed regarding the Scope of Work (SoW) and Division of Work (DoW) and oversee change management on site, including the administration of variation orders to subcontractors.
• You will guarantee all testing is completed and approved by the customer, in alignment with contractual requirements, promote a culture of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) excellence, ensuring strict compliance with business, customer, and local authority standards.
• You will ensure that all activities meet quality expectations, with proper creation, collection, achieving quality records, and validate that all permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements are in place for compliant execution of site activities.

Your background:

• You hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 4 years' experience as a Site Manager on construction projects with medium to high complexity, demonstrating measurable successes, learning from challenges, and lessons gained.
• Experience in civil construction, installation, and/or commissioning activities. Previous experience with HVDC converter stations and offshore platforms is advantageous.
• In-depth understanding of terms and conditions commonly used in construction contracts, willingness to relocate and work at various project locations worldwide, including yard and offshore environments, for the duration required. Please note this is a site-based role; remote work is not available.
• Recognized certifications and training in Health, Environment, Safety, and offshore operations. Commitment to complete the Hitachi Energy Site Management certification process, demonstrated leadership, structure, and goal orientation; proven ability to lead teams, adapt quickly, earn trust, and perform under pressure.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for various audiences, from blue-collar workers to senior management and customers. Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Job Responsibilities

• Close cooperation with the Project Manager in planning, preparation and execution of the site.
• Organization of the subcontractors e.g., BOP works supervision, QA documentation check, weekly follow-up meetings, erection strategy.
• Make decisions regarding site activities and priorities on a daily basis.
• Be First contact for all parties being active on site such as subcontractors, suppliers, and any other personnel on site by building up a strong relationship with the aforementioned parties.
• Define time schedules for the management of the site and monitor and safeguard required level of quality throughout erection, finishing and commissioning works.
• Oversee and control civil, mechanical, and electrical site works in anticipation with turbine delivery and in accordance with given time frame.
• Lead the arrival at site, erection, and commissioning of the wind turbines in order to assure the hand over to the customer service team on-time and in good quality.
• Close Cooperation and communicate periodically with the correspondent Logistic Manager and/or the logistic company involved in the delivery of goods.
• Organization of the Toolbox Talk on a daily basis to keep all leaders coordinated, updated and informed about daily tasks and HSE issues, as well as monitor the related documentation.
• Instruct, control, and manage personnel at site, subcontractors and all suppliers at the site including erection and transportation companies.
• Control costs and provide the Project Manager with all necessary reports and feedback regarding progress of works, support for claims for extension of time and/or costs to our customers and suppliers, installed equipment, HSE and quality issues at site.
• Support the Project Manager and Commercial Project Manager in contract and claim management towards clients and suppliers.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering or related fields.
• Minimum 12 years' working experience (Minimum 5 years' experience in project management and Minimum 3 years' experience in the renewable energy business, such as solar rooftop, solar farm, etc.)
• Experience in the management of scope, cost, schedules, and vendors/ subcontractors in varied contract arrangements.

Why this role?
The Site Manager is accountable for safe, high quality and efficient installation of the KONE solution, according to the agreed / contracted scope, schedule and budget. He/she ensures proper planning of site activities and preparation of site readiness, is in charge of installation activities, manages and supports the installation team, verifies the installation deliverables and ensures readiness for customer and maintenance handovers. He/she acts as the KONE interface to the customer at the installation site and to other parties throughout the installation process. He/she supports the sales team and the technical sales support team in pre-tender, tender and order activities when needed/requested.

What will you be doing?
Site supervision:

• Accountable for safety, quality and productivity during installation and handovers, and for corrective actions to any detected non-conformities
• Accountable for the use of correct KONE installation methods, and for proper risk assessment for parts of installation where KONE method is not available
• Responsible for site preparations, site readiness, site visits and audits, including resolution of site readiness non-conformities with customer (supported by Project Manager as needed)
• Responsible for verifying the site execution plan and financial forecast as part of the pre-delivery review, thereafter confirms S-plan MS 2z and assumes site execution responsibility
• Thereafter is responsible for realistic scheduling MS 3c (material delivery to site), installation activities and handovers, and for confirmation of S-plan milestones 3 – 5z
• Responsible for the verification of site readiness and payment status according to S-plan concept and contract terms (supported by Project Admin)
• Responsible for planning of installation activities, site storage and logistics, and needed resources and tools
• Requests materials to site (MS 3x), confirms delivery of KONE materials to site (MS 3c), receives other materials and services at site and performs Goods Receipt
• Accountable for performing installation handover to and from installers and subcontractors, managing installation progress, final testing of the equipment and handover to maintenance
• Responsible for quality claims/feedbacks, time sheet approvals, installation documentation, reporting of installation progress, status, cost accumulation and risks, and managing schedule and other changes
• Responsible for management of environmental aspects of the installation (waste and hazardous material handling)

Customer Relationship management:

• Acts as a single point of contact towards the customer during installation regarding site management, with pro-active communication and usage of related tools
• Responsible for achieving own targets of add-on sales and change orders during installation
• Accountable for customer satisfaction on installation process and quality of installation

Subcontractor relations and people leadership:

• Responsible for verifying that installers are trained, certified, competent and capable of performing each installation task
