We are looking for an experienced Tax Expert who is responsible for the tax planning and tax ruling consulting (maybe including tax operating in the future, but not yet now) matters of all companies in Ascend Group. He or She should be expert in Thai tax knowledge and has general or basic SEA countries tax knowledge to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations and properly design tax practice of the business model among related parties' company in Ascend group.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify all tax filing/transactions (CIT, VAT, Withholding tax (WHT), Special Business Tax (SBT), etc.) for compliance and correctness.
- Provide innovative tax planning services in compliance with tax laws and regulations to maximize the company's profitability and minimize the tax risks.
- Provide tax ruling consulting to accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate tax matters.
- Collaborate with the BU and finance teams for designing the proper commercial business models and related party transaction models including with international affiliates with the efficiency tax practices.
- Liaise and summarize with the Revenue department officers for income tax returns and other related tax issues.
- Correspond about the tax issues /audits/ litigation relating to core tax (CIT, VAT, WHT, SBT, etc.) of companies and follow up the result with the Revenue department.
- Collaborate with the internal/external auditors or financial analysts on any tax issues and provide the appropriate requested information that is related to tax matters to them.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on tax implications of business decisions.
- Provide training in tax knowledge to the accounting and finance staff.
- Proactively follow up and update on any new tax/regulatory change such as transfer pricing, new tax requirement.
- Ensure appropriate tax documentation and implementation of Group Guideline Taxes, policies and documentation standards.
Qualification
- Bachelor or Master bachelor. degree in accounting required, preferably in taxation major.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting firm and/or private industry with exposure to tax compliance
- Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and tax returns
- Good English skill to contact with the external parties.
- Strong understanding of tax planning strategies and experience in managing all tax matters.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong relationships and personnel skills with associates to other functions.

About The Role
- Acting as the key point of contact and support for tax operation matters.

We're looking for a Tax Assistant Manager to support on tax business partnering for Thailand and SEA markets
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Tax Assistant Manager will be responsible for working with the Thailand and SEA Tax Manager to provide in-market / regional tax advice on tax challenges and opportunities impacting the relevant markets. The role encompasses overseeing local planning, review and sign off on local compliance and reporting (delivered via third party managed service), responding to tax authority challenges and ensuring that the business optimises its tax position while adhering to all relevant in-country and global laws and regulations.
- Oversee timely and accurate filing of tax returns in all jurisdictions, including the reconciliation of tax accounts via third party managed service. Provide a timely review and sign off on returns and deliverables where required. Work with the Global Business Services (shared service centre) tax team on data provision.
- Be accountable for ensuring local adherence to global tax strategy, policies and risk management framework and alignment with overall business objectives and regulatory environment.
- Provide specialist advice on direct and indirect tax implications of new business initiatives, cross-border transactions, commercial and vendor contracts, and corporate initiatives.
- Provide local tax insight into the audit approach and process and consult with external advisors as required. Work closely with the central tax team to ensure consistent and efficient approaches to dispute resolution.
- Identify and mitigate local tax risks, including ensuring the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to meet compliance and governance regimes and to prevent non-compliance and potential penalties.
