About the role
As a Welding Engineer at GPV Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd.', you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of welding processes within our manufacturing operations. This full-time position is based in Samut Prakan, Samut Prakan, where you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising our welding techniques to support the company's mechanical engineering objectives.
What you'll be doing
- Developing and implementing welding procedures and techniques to meet production targets and quality standards
- Conducting welding inspections and testing to identify and resolve issues
- Providing technical guidance and training to welding operators to improve their skills and performance
- Collaborating with production teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
- Maintaining detailed records and documentation related to welding activities
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards

- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Welding Engineer or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
- Proficient knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and quality control standards

About Chromalloy: We are "Manufacturing Operation Repair and Overhaul" aircraft gas turbine engine, HQ in US and our facility in Thailand located in Lam Luk Ka, Pathum Thani.
You can drive only around 30-45 mins from Mega Bang Na or Sukhumvit.
About this position: The Welding Engineer focuses on the welding related tasks for various types of welding materials, mostly Nickel based, and Cobalt based super alloys. These welding materials are mainly applied to repair gas turbine components by various techniques by either Manual or Robotic TIG welding, Laser welding, Plasma Arc welding. These tasks typically are parts of the New Product Introduction (NPI) projects or productivity/quality improvement or cost saving initiations.
Responsibilities:
- Review the welding requirement/specification applicable to the new product. Identify welding material spec, resources, equipment, and activities required to complete the project and convert to project planning agreed with NPI manager.
- Coordinate with purchasing team to make sure that all the resources, equipment, consumables required for welding project are ordered and available in time per the project schedule.
- Share ideas with project engineer and tool design engineer to come up with the proper tooling/fixture design, ease for use, productive, and cost effective.
- Liaise with production team leader to make sure that the welding trial is carried out by the agreed plan.
- Lead, train and advise the welding operators with suitable welding procedures, parameters, good practices, per the developed and documented weld procedures.
- Optimize and improve welding success rate, welding process cycle time, operation, and material costs to be under the budget to make sure the quoted selling price is economically profitable.
- Create test documents to include step-by-step procedure, test, and inspection requirements to use for welding trial and lab inspection. Generate the technical report as a supporting document for qualification package. Create and update the Standard Practice Manual (SPMs) and welding procedure.
- Support project engineer to supervise and monitor First Article welding run. Assure smooth project transfer to production. Support process engineer for trouble shoots for welding related issues.
- Equipment selection and introduction for manual and automated welding (robotic, laser, micro plasma, dabber TIG, pulsed welding, friction welding)
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in welding application or welding process development.
- Bachelor's degree in welding engineering, metallurgy, material science or related fields.
- Good command of English.
Experience in selection, operating, producing and introduction of automated and manual welding systems is a plus.
Knowledge or experience in welding research and/or projects in welding of super alloy is a plus.
- Solid self-starting and decision-making skills.

Location:
