Responsibility as part of the store logistics team for the integration of IKEA supply quality, health and safety standards in the goods flow process and customer delivery processes
**Your assignment**
- You will safeguard the quality of all logistics processes to ensure that no damaged products reach the customer.
- You will provide feedback on loading quality to supplier and claim as much as possible to reduce internal damages.
- You will help secure that the logistics operation is carried out according to regulations and mandatories, that procedures and follow - ups are implemented and that the store is operating in compliance during all hours.

+ Certification in construction safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) is preferred.

WHAT WE OFFER
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducting all measurements as required prior to release work permit (e.g. measure explosive gases, oxygen content, toxic gasses, etc.). The safety watcher confirms the testing time by signature during the execution of the work.
- Ensuring that all safety measures, mentioned on the work safety instruction, are continuously guarded during the complete duration of the work. (e.g. read out LEL% during the execution of hot work in EX-zones).
- Removal of all potential hazards before the execution of hazardous work.
- Ensure the protection of all non-removable fire hazards (e.g. covering with fire blankets) prior to the execution of hot-work.
- Ensure wetting down the work area in order to minimize the potential fire/ignition risk prior to the execution of hot-work (water hose).
- Ensure the presence of fire extinguishers prior to the execution of hot-work.
- Being present at the work place, 30 minutes after the completion of hot-work related to cutting, welding and open fire work, this to minimize the risk of glow-fire and re-ignition.
- To stop all work activities when the hazardous situation is changed against the safety situation mentioned on the work safety instruction.
- Ensure the posting the work permit in the near vicinity of the work place.
- Check the special certificate related task (e.g. welding).
- Interrupt the work if safety measures are not followed or not in place. The safety watcher must stay within an appropriate distance of the work area. Assure that the work is discontinuing when the safety watcher is not present at the work site, even if it is only for a few minutes.
- Contact HES for help in case of an emergency or rescue is needed without endangering themselves.
- The safety watcher must not get directly involved in the execution of the work, not be assigned to another work that would distract attention from this work.
- Check the completeness of work permit for hazardous work, detail of working and proper documentation (Sign for approval, Notification, SOP, Check list, Detail of work, System preparation, Document concerned, Lock out system).
- Safety talk at working area to guide about safety warning and inspect working area.
- Check all tools and equipment as below.
- All electrical tool and equipment must have been inspected by PCT and not expired date.
- Dry chemical is passed inspection and ready for use.
- The mechanical tools must have been inspected e.g. hoist.
- Ensure that barricade is covered working area and labeling
- Ensure the house keeping of the work place in preparation, during and after the execution of the work.
